Eating, Cooking and Serving

9 cent folders, 25 cent packages of pencils and the latest pen that is bound to have fourth graders jealous this year. Yes folks, that's right Walmart, Target, Meijer and so many more stores are sending out the ads, trying to attract students to buy their products. For me that means I too will be entering school. Kindergarten parents will cry, and students carrying their prepacked Staples boxes will stumble as they step out of their parents' oversized SUVs. And I, will step out of Lolla to start my second year of teaching. I love teaching. I love my students. But I also love to cook, serve and create. I'm praying....Lord willing...that I might pursue other career opportunities, possibly in catering, culinary arts, or restaurant management. I like food, I love cooking it, and I really enjoy serving it. I could see myself putting the finishing touches on a main dish, delicately and meticulously drizzling a delicious sauce around a flamed kissed lamb. Maybe I'm supposed to welcome guests for an elegant weekend of food and relaxation. Or possibly I would be good at creating a celebration for 200! Tomorrow, I'll talk with career services in the hopes to gain a little insight into my future.
