A freezing crater

I'm a swimmer, anyone who knows me well, knows that I love the water. I'm like a fish, at home when underwater. So when presented with an opportunity to jump 25 feet into a large crater filled with rain and melted snow runoff I'm up for the challenge! So there I stood, on a large rock, looking down into the bluest water I'd ever seen, realizing as I was looking down that it was farther than I anticipated and it was going to be cold....but I jumped. It was cold. Very cold!! It took my breath away, and as the large waves came rolling in, I found myself swimming for my life to the closest rock near by. I was cold, freezing. My lungs had shrunk and I was ready to get out of that water. When I made it to the rock, I was told to swim around to the rocky steps that would get me out, but it was cold and I didn't want to get back in. But I did. I eventually thawed. :)
So for anyone heading to Oregon, don't forget to visit Crater Lake. At 142 feet visability, and no outside pollution it's the most gorgeous lake I've ever seen...and I'm from Michigan!
